Devil's Advocate of Poker Bloggers

This is a quick one:

Why aren't there blogger conventions in Atlantic City? I mean, Vegas is great, but AC ain't too shabby. Can we make this happen? Of course, Okie Vegas comes first. Comments?

I would be up for Atlantic City in the future. Do they have rental trailer parks up there?

So you are saying you are going to put one together then?

I am saying that I am seriously considering it. The thing is, I don't think I have the time, resources, or interest to actually arrange anything particular with a hotel or whatever in AC. Plus, in June, I'm heading to Oklahoma for a Okie Vegas trip at casa del GCox. So, it's an idea I am throwing out there. We'll see what happens with it and how many people are interested.

I've been kicking that idea around for awhile. It will happen.

Something about traveling to New Jersey just doesn't seem as appealing as Vegas, especially in colder weather months. I'd much rather play in the desert than play near the ocean. Maybe it's just me, but the Meadow seems better than the Garden State anyday.

True enough Chipper. AC is no Vegas, even on its best days. But I love AC. And if you want to play poker and live in the North East, it's the best deal going. If you aren't in driving distance, then obviously it is a whole other ball game. But a lot of us are. So I still say AC blogger convention needs to happen. It might not be AC, but in the end, its the poker and the people, not the place.

I'm in for an AC trip, it might be a year or two before I can make a Vegas trip, but I'm only about 2 hours from AC myself so that one is very doable. I haven't yet had a chance to get up there though so I have no idea about which places to stay and which cardrooms are good. I'm hoping to be able to get up there and play some.

Maybe once I win the HUC2 I'll take my prize money and go up there for a dayt trip. That would be a wonderful waste of everyone's money.

I have the #1 reason... cheap flights

$240 for me to get to Vegas

$420+ for AC, flight only

Where are you at Drizz? For a NYer, it'll cost me gas only to go to AC instead of $350+ to fly to Vegas. I'm not saying it'll be easier for everyone, but there are enough of us that it would be easier for.
