SNG Questions

Okay, SNG Challenge players. The Challenge will begin on July 11th, and continue until Aug. 8th. My question to you all are twofold:

1. Should I collect the $25 before and distribute at the end.

2. Should we require screenshots.

My thinking is like this. The $25 before will ensure that payment is made quick after the Challenge, and will avoid a situation where the winner has to contact each of us to set something up. I'm not sure if UB allows you to transfer as little as $25 between accounts, so I need info on this.

Screenshots would avoid any cheating, but then again, as bloggers and poker players, I think we should be able to trust each other. Do any of you really want to have to deal with screenshots. Perhaps we can each just keep spreadsheets of wins and losses. Honor amongst gamblers? Usually, no. But Honor amongst poker enthusiast bloggers? I hope so.

I will await feedback from the 5 other Challenge participants, and the vote will rule. I hope to have set rules by July 5-6.

Poker on!

J,
Honor amongst gamblers is perfectly fine with me. I trust all of you guys and you can trust me.
I like the spreadsheet idea and we always have to blogs for daily updates.
I would prefer not to have to mess with screen shots, but I will if that's what everyone else wants to do.
You can transfer any amount of real money on UB, but you have to be a preferred member(or something of that nature) Basically, I think you just have to sign up for it. I will check that out tonight and report back
Great playing last night, buddy.

I trust you folks so I don't think screenshots are needed, but maybe we could just add the SNG tournament number to our spreadsheets that way we have a trackback, though I don't think it would ever be needed. I don't know anything about UB, but with sites like Party they have a tournament number (example 356425) which we could just keep whenever we play. I might just utilize one of my sidebar tabs or one of the links at the top to keep up with my results.

Looking forward to it yo's.

Good stuff. Gcox, the link will be fixed shortly. Thanks for the heads up on that.

I'm cool with keeping the tourney # in the spreadsheets.

GCox, see what you can find out about transferring $ on UB. Some sites only allow you to transfer $50 or more, which could be problematic. If that is the case, then everyone could transfer $76 to me, and I'd transfer $51 back. I like math.

If we can transfer $, this will allow us to deposit $80 in total ($55 for play, $25 for entry), and get a larger deposit bonus.

I see no reason why screenshots would be necessary. I like the idea of depositing $80 for the higher deposit bonus. July 11th start date looks good also.

Just a thought...Are we are going by Wins/Loses or by money won?

Jordan,
It looks like it takes 6 months before you can transfer money between players. I didn't realize that. I am able to do it, but I've been playing there for over a year.
I don't know if this changes anything, but I thought you should know that before we all get our money on there.

I think it should be money won instead of wins/losses. Point being, you can be a successful poker player by cashing and not necessarily winning each SNG. I don't base my success entirely on winning...at the end of the day, if I have more money in my account than I started with, then that's a success.

Depending on how many sites Gary plays at, what if we transfer him the money from a different site, for instance Party or Stars or places like that. Then he could be the keeper of the money and distribute the cash to the site of choice that 1st and 2nd place choose. Since he can transfer funds at UB, we would have that option as well. Just a thought.

There is also Neteller as well as the old fashion send a check. Though I've gotta warn you, whoever gets the check, I'll be sure to put some embaressing comment under the "For" line of the check. That's just my thing...

Either of those ways would be fine with me. Can we transfer money to each other on Neteller? If so, does everyone have a Neteller account? That would be easiest.

I would be willing to hold the money though, if that's what we decide is best. As far as which sites, pretty much all of them. I only have money at UB, Noble and BoDog right now, but have accounts set up at Pacific, Full Tilt, Party, Games Grid and Absolute.

The check thing works for me too. Well, I should say it works for my wife, I haven't written a check in 10 years.

Let me know what "we" decide.

I forgot Poker Stars also.

Wow, maybe I should add a chat room. Ok, so transferring via UB isn't going to happen. I dont have many accounts, so if other sites require 6 mos also, it isn't going to happen for me. But I think we can get away with checks. Again, it goes down to trust. If we all trust each other, then we can send the checks (or transfer via a site) at the end, because we will know who to make the check to. I think that would be easiest. Simplify.

So, lets have the money exchanged when we have a winner. I think we've ironed out all of the details. I'll wait for responses from Steeler and DNasty before I post the official rules.

Definitely has to go by money won. Risks pay off that way. Plus, it should be interesting toward the end, so there won't be any obvious front runner.

I like that we will all be on the same site. It'll create a lot more situations where we play against each other.

This should be fun, boyz. Played a practice SNG and took down 2nd.

I can transfer via neteller or check. I would prefer neteller. But hey I will go with anything.

I am not concerned with honesty. Which way to transfer money, anyway is fine with me. You guys can get it to me anyway possible. If you do it by check, the memo line should read "for keeping your pimp hand strong."

Winning should be by total money made. Also can we play any amount for the SNG correct, so if I wanted to play a 20+2 After I build some up thats not a problem?

Let me know, either way I am down...

The way SteelerJosh plays he could be out after 2 hrs...No Rebuys DOG.

The key is to have allow players to play any limit they want. Bankroll management will be part of the challenege.

Plus, at the end, when I am up $950, and you are all trailing in the low double digits, it'll be funny to watch you bet 75% of his stack to try to catch up.

Eat my dust!

Just a thought...I know we are supposed to start with $50, but in order to take advantage of bonus offers and to satisfy the requirements of pokersourceonline.com you have to deposit a minimum of $100. Therefore, I'm going to deposit at least $100 into my new UB account I will be setting up soon. I will still run all my SNG Challenge numbers on the $50 start and just keep a record of what happens. I'll use the remainder of the deposit to work off the bonus. Will anyone else be doing something similar to take advantage of the bonus offering? Just wondering.

I already have some money on UB so no, but good luck working off the bonus there. Nothing like free money!!

It all sounds good to me. Winner is highest bankroll increase and we trust each other for the record keeping. Similar thing to the Limit Challenge between DNasty and Jordan... they trusted each other.

I have been out of town the past week, (no pokering) so I am anxious to get going again. GL all.
